Shoot Gold presented a poster at the International Conference on Grassroots to Greatness - Talent Identification & Athlete Development, held 6-7 February 2026 at the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), Patiala. The conference was organised by the Sports Authority of India.
The poster, Diagnostic Performance Intelligence for Longitudinal Athlete Monitoring, was presented in the conference's poster session alongside contributions from coaches, sports scientists, and researchers working across talent identification and long-term athlete development.
About the work
The poster set out how structured, longitudinal performance information can support athlete development decisions beyond a single score, test, or selection event. It connects athlete monitoring with the questions coaches and sports-science teams face across training phases: whether an athlete is responding to the current plan, whether a concern continues across comparable sessions, and whether a technical change has held under competition pressure.
Presenting in poster format put that framework in front of the coaches and researchers attending NSNIS Patiala directly, in a setting built for the kind of close, one-to-one discussion a stage presentation does not allow.
Part of a national conversation
The conference brought together over 550 participants, including coaches and sports scientists, alongside more than 30 national and international experts, as part of India's long-term preparation for future Olympic cycles. Its themes, talent identification models, athlete development pathways, and sports science and technology integration, sit close to the problems Shoot Gold's research is built to address.
"NSNIS Patiala is where this thinking gets tested against people who work with athletes every day. Presenting as a poster meant real conversations with coaches and researchers about what a longitudinal record needs to actually be useful for athlete development," said Mukesh Amra Vaghela, Founder of Shoot Gold.
